Southend United vs. Millwall Fitness boost for Southend United ahead of Millwall clash
SOUTHEND United have been handed a fitness boost ahead of tomorrow night’s friendly with Millwall.
Centre-back Harry Lennon and Dru Yearwood will both be available to play despite having to come off against Dagenham & Redbridge at the weekend.
And Blues boss Kevin Bond will also be able to call on winger Stephen McLaughlin who has recovered from an ankle injury which forced him to miss the last two friendlies.
“Harry and Dru are both available to play which is good news,” said Bond.
“We also have Stephen McLaughlin back and Luke Hyam may be able to play as well.”
However, Bond confirmed midfielder Timothee Dieng and striker Simon Cox still remain sidelined with calf injuries.

Manager Neil Harris will shuffle his pack again as he gives minutes to his squad ahead of the Championship opener against Preston a week on Saturday. Peterborough United winger Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, ex Hertford Town midfielder Ahmed Mohamed and former Crawley Town left-back Andre Blackman all featured for Blues at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
And Bond is to now spend the next seven days looking at all three players.
“All of the trialists will be staying with us for another week,” said Bond.
“Isaac and Ahmed both played against Dagenham and I thought Andre did well when he came on too so we will be having another look at them.”
Ex St Johnstone captain Joe Shaughnessy is also believed to be on trial but Bond did not want to comment on the centre-back.
